Martinmas

We had 37 to our annual Martinmas party this year.  It was a magical night with lanterns leading the way down a dark path in the woods.

There were lanterns up high in the trees, on posts, and down on stumps.

At the end of the path was a warm fire with fun things to cook.

Inside was another warm fire and lots of lanterns and food.

At the end of the evening, the kids all played a long game of flash-light tag while the parents conversed by both fires.

We also gathered food for the the local food shelf and turned our thoughts to the season of giving.
It was a perfect way to envelope our teens in the spirit of Martinmas without pushing it on them. We just enveloped them in the darkness, gathered food, and celebrated the giving spirit of our community.
