Highlights from the Waldorf Winter Fair

We spent our first weekend of Advent volunteering at the school's Winter Fair. It is a very fun way to kick off the Christmas season.

Gingerbread Houses to decorate with all sorts of woodland treasures.

Helen, now a beloved Alum, finally old enough to be the "Pocket Lady."

The Gnome Circus--a magical world filled with...well...gnomes performing a circus.

Gnomes on a flying trapeze.

Tumbling Gnomes

And crowds of cheering gnomes who went home with each child.

Our class ran the cafe...soups, breads, and baked goods. A very fun hang-out spot for alums and their parents.

A fun time was had by all.

Oh fun! Is this the event you made the lovely cookbooks for a year or two ago? Remind us what a pocket lady is, ok?

The Pocket Lady wanders the halls of the fair. She wears a big apron filled with little gifts such as tiny baskets, wooden acorns, bells on a finger-knitted string, tiny felt bags, etc. For the price of one ticket, a child can reach in and pull out a treasure.

Heavenly. The sweet acrobatic gnomes, the pocket lady ... swoon. I love Waldorf fairs.
