Bloggyness
We've been on the road for the last week on a big trip to see my parents in Ohio. We made some stops along the way. Some bloggers may be able to guess where we were from this photo--afternoon chores in action--
Did you guess? We were visiting Lisa Anne, Jerome, and Amelia from Harmony Valley Homeschool. We explored the farm, talked,
played games, talked, did chores, talked,
and generally had a nice visit. Hels, Lou, and I snuck off very early in the a.m. for our 10-hour drive to Ohio. We listened to lots of Hardy Boys on tape, memorized the top 40 tunes on the radio and played Mad Libs, arriving safely at my Father's in time for dinner.
We drove back through Niagara Falls.
We got back in time for one of our favorite events of the year--the "5-College Book Sale" which is an enormous used book sale that takes up two school gyms and all the halls in between. We stocked up on some summer reading. Sarah will note a book at the very bottom of the pile that she recently blogged about. I took note and there it was at the sale!
Lou's favorite purchase was this 3-piece boxed desk encyclopedia (which we got for $1). She is very excited about it.
Our trip began with such a wonderful visit in Pennsylvania. Thanks to Lisa, Jerome, and Amelia for a lovely visit. It was fun to see Amelia and Hels tromp off into the woods together.
That's wonderful that you were able to get away for such a nice trip, and that you got to meet Lisa Anne and her family. It sounds like a lot of fun.
Way to go, on finding all those great books at the sale!
What a fabulous trip!! I envy you visiting Lisa Anne and her family - as I envy them being visited by you :-)
Great to see you found that book! I hope you enjoy it. Eleanor was such a fascinating person.
What a nice trip you had...I bet it was nice to visit Lisa Anne, too. The bunnies are sooooo cute. :)
What a wonderful trip and that book sale you went to sounds amazing, I adore books....
What a great trip to visit Lisa Anne, isn't PA lovely! I love the rainbow in the background of that pic of the girls in the Falls.
rainbow into niagra falls??? looks like the travel fairies were working overtime on your behalf!!
the book sale sounds too good to be true!
It was so nice that you all could come visit! I love the rainbow behind your girls (I guess everyone already said that). Welcome back home.
How does everyone have all these neat places on their lists to visit. I dont even think Ive been over to that blog. Now I have something new to check out.
And wow, what a loot on the books! Good for you!
We had our local town library book sale this past weekend as well. It is a huge sale (lots of books donated and purchased in a college town) and raises tons of money for the library. We have STACKS of books ready for reading. I've just blogged about some of my purchases if you care to take a peek.
Bananagrams is lots of fun : ) So are chickens! I ate the freshest chicken of my life last night-- our friends had slaughtered it just 4 hours previous. I'm a big hypocrite, I'll eat it but have no desire to watch the actual death.
Oh yes -you are more than welcome at our home and would love to meet you. Next time!
I love those types of book sales.
Ithaca has one in the Spring and Fall. Good stuff!
Just ordered this banana game 2 hours ago for our Waldorf shop in Australia, and then I pop in for a visit and see you have been playing it. Has your family enjoyed it?
Sounds like a fabulous time, and a GREAT farm to visit. ;)
We loved Bananagrams. We shared "Dutch Blitz" and Amelia shared "Bananagrams." I like both games because everyone is doing their own thing, not waiting around a board for another person. The games are also fast.
what a wonderful trip! I noticed you play Dutch Blitz - my husband found the game in a thrift store years ago, and it is a family favorite! Haven't met anyone else who's ever played it before.
How fun to visit with Lisa Anne and family! I'm jealous :-)
There's something special about book sets in boxes, isn't there?
What a wonderful trip! It is always so nice to meet bloggy buddies in real life! Then, Niagra Falls at the tail end as well? You lucky girls! Happy reading!
Ahh- looks like a great trip. Book sale . . . wow, my Flowergirl will be jealous. We have a Library sale to go to this weekend. Glad you made it to Niagara Falls. It is only 1.5 hours from us and we try to get there often. We have a beautiful Falls right here in our Village though. A beautiful Horseshoe with remnants of the old mills.
What a great trip! That is so cool that you got to visit Lisa Anne!!!!! It's so nice to see the blogging community connect in the physical!
