Hitting the Slopes

Yesterday was the first day of ski program. Most schools in Vermont give kids a 1/2 day per week to ski. Our day is Thursdays and usually the kids from our school are the only kids at the ski area.

We had to buy new helmets this year--here is E trying on her helmet and goggles the night before.

Here is E getting ready to head out. This was the first year she was able to carry all her stuff and get it all on herself. HEAVEN for me.

The kids love to ski and to hang out in the lodge. This lodge is especially nice with its big fireplace and huge windows. It is home to the oldest ski team in the U.S. and there are a number of kids from our school who race.

Cocoa at the end of the day

I didn't get any good action shots as the kids were moving too fast and they were mad at me for taking photos.

Cute photos (their body language is saying "don't take my picture"). I always want to get great action shots of skiing and have yet to do so- it's very difficult. Vermont sounds like such a wonderful place. A half day off from school to go skiing!
