Deep Breath
Our holiday themes of travel and snow continue. We've spent the past two days down in Boston supporting friends who have a child undergoing major surgery. We took the younger sibling out for the day to the Aquarium, a ride on the subway, and then to a hotel WITH A POOL--so exciting. She'll be staying with us for the next week. We've also been helping out the parents with hugs and food.
It's been pretty emotional for us. Some day I'll have the strength to write about our experience with E who was critically ill and underwent numerous surgeries. Being at Children's brought back a bunch of memories and questioning of decisions made.
My husband is so awesome. We're home now, and he's put on a Stevie Wonder CD. I've been rolling my eyes, but N is right--the lyrics are very joyful and have brought lightness back to our evening!
Tomorrow we'll have our final Christmas meal (breakfast) by the tree and then take down the decorations in preparation for our Twelfth Night party and burning of the greens. I can't wait--I love tidying up after Christmas and I love the last blast party of Twelfth Night.
That sounds very difficult. An ill child makes people so vulnerable. Your friends are blessed to have you around!
Our prayers are with you and your friends' family!
