A Little Extra Magic
Don't we all need a little extra magic in our lives? St. Nicholas came to visit last night. He always comes in a spray of glitter which ends up all over the house. This year he was delighted to find H's elf clogs left out in front of the fireplace rather than her old sneakers. He usually brings to our house chocolate gold coins. He was so inspired by the clogs, that he also left a pair of mugs with his picture on them.
After visiting our house, St. Nicholas went to the children's school and left glitter everywhere there as well. The children left shoes on their desks last night. I'm sure they are going to find golden walnuts, clementines, and little treats when they arrive.
What a nice change--for some reason the children got up so easily this morning. They miraculously found something to wear that they liked, brushed their teeth, and even remembered socks :)
St. Nicholas visited our house too, though I'm sure he'll remember to sprinkle glitter next year (great idea). I had one little elf shoe made, but didn't get to the others, so he had to deal with crocs and his chocolate coins. It was a huge hit, and I can't wait to work on it for next year. What a magical moment in the advent of the season!
By the way, which Waldorf do you attend? When we were visiting in the Burlington to Middlebury area, I saw a big sign for a school off route 7. How I wish we could have visited!
Your St. Nicholas is beautiful. He came to our house last night also!
