A Heart Connection
Simmy and her family arrived the night before we left for vacation. I must say that it was an immediate heart connection for all of us Rookers. From the moment they got out of the car we were all chattering madly about everything. Simmy and Amber fell in love with H's handmade earrings. We taught the boys how to play "Skip-Bo", the boys taught us how play "Settlers of Catan."
At dinner we discovered that the children all knew the same Waldorf blessings and verses and we had fun comparing our main lesson books. We talked as the sun went down and continued on by lantern light.
The next morning, we sadly said "good-bye" and set off on our vacation a little quietly with some very mixed feelings of leaving behind new friends. We hope we can spend more time with the Baines family next year in England!!
