A Boating Life

Today is Helen's 16th birthday. As I dropped her off for crew practice at 5 a.m. I thought about her life in boats. It isn't surprising that she loves crew so much.

Here she is as a newborn in the boat cradle Nelson made her and under the matching blanket I knit for her.

Here she is about 8 weeks old about to go on her first canoe trip. We were making sure she wouldn't fall out of the life jacket.
