Our New Teen

Introducing our new teen....in her new bed! Nels made Hels a loft bed for her birthday. We moved up an old couch from Nels's office. She's pretty excited. Nels and I agreed that she has a cooler room than either of us had in college!
She had a beautiful birthday with all sorts of special celebrations at school and with the extended family. After a day of quiet, she's now off to Quebec City for a week with her French class. She's pretty nervous because her teacher is going to make them do all the money exchanges, food orders, etc., in French. Here she is all packed up.
While Hels is nervous....Lou is excited because she's going to sleep in the new loft while her sister is gone :)
We'll miss her. Au Revoir!
what a wonderful opportunity to be able to go to france-- I hope she has alot of fun! (and i hope you survive the feelings that probably come along with sending your child without you to another country)
Oh have fun! Hels will do fine, I went to France for three months without really knowing how to speak french. A bientot!
Happy birthday to Hels :-) That is a seriously cool bed. Only I must not show it to my almost-10 year old, who has been convinced bunks are only for "little kids" (thanks to a mother who is scared of heights!)
I am sure Hels will do fine in Quebec City and hope you will do fine at home!!

Big news - we have a new litter of kittens. I don't know if you all are interested or not. I haven't put up pics yet because they are too little. There is a gray stripe w/ some white on it and if you want it, it's yours. There are also 2 red striped cats - 1 w/ white on it and 1 without. The last is a black kitten.

i remember my french classes when I was a teenager. ppfff I don't know much french anymore :-(
My boys got loft beds last year and my eldest son said to me, mommy I'm closer to dreamland now, i will fall a sleep sooner. I thought that was so sweet.

Great bed! We're planning do make a loft bed for my 5 yr old -only not as high as Hels! Just high enough to put some shelves underneath to store her toys! Did you folow any specific plans? We're not sure where to start yet!
My 13 yr old is heading off to Europe for 24 days next week! OMG! Great opportunity and I'm jealous! But wringing my hands as well!!!!
