A Something in a Summer's Day: 1

Summer has been floating by... hazy, breezy...
and somehow just beyond my reach.

I feel the need to ensnare it just a bit...to catch the best of the little moments and stop to enjoy them. I want to catch the "something in a summer's day" (as Emily Dickinson puts it). So, I'm going to try to have my camera with me just a bit more this summer to catch the moments that speak of summer to me. Here is today's moment:

I have been spending 3 weeks every summer at this pool for years now. Hels has passed through all 6 levels of Red Cross swim lessons while Lou has just completed level IV. I enjoy my daily 45 minutes of sitting in the sun, listening to the whistles and the kids. Luckily, my girls enjoy swim lessons as well. Here is Lou having a safety drill.

I've never brought my camera. I've never stopped to realize that this is a big part of our summers. So, here it is on the last day for this year!

I look forward to capturing more glimpses of "Something in a Summer's Day".

I'll look forward to seeing what glimpses you choose to capture in your summer days. That water in those photos looks awfully inviting.

We've been having a lot of fun at the pond here...my kids are really starting to love the water. I look forward to swimming lessons someday!

I took a bunch of photos of swimming at the lake, somewhere there is a post that is never going to happen. Its so nice to collect summer moments and especially nice to think of them during the long dark winter months. We just received a package of vermont goodies from friends who were visiting...I just love Vermont.

Now that's the way to spend summer!

I have always loved that concept from Emily! We've been feel a lot of the same here...and I am glad you are catching your glimpses. We used to love those Red Cross Swim courses when the kids were younger, but then the city cut back funding and they were cancelled! :(
Enjoy!
