Hands on Pianos

Our local arts center, The Hopkins Center for the Arts, celebrated their 50th anniversary with our entire community. They collected 51 old pianos, had local artists decorate them, and then tuned them. They put them all over the area. Here's Helen, just off the water from a crew race, playing the piano at the Dartmouth boathouse.

Here is a young classmate of Liz's playing the piano by the local bakery.

Love this cheetah piano at the golf club.

Liz and her friend went on a hide and seek mission throughout Hanover and found 5 to play. Here's a fun video about the pianos.

There was something like this in Minneapolis too - Pianos on Parade. I haven't caught up enough to post pics but am enjoying the chance to see your summer re-cap.

This is just about the most wonderful thing that I have seen a community do together. Music is such a marvelous gift and to have pianos all over the community and music everywhere . . . that is genius. I truly enjoyed the video, thank you for sharing. Connie :)
I'm looking forward to following your artful journey.
